Introducing this unique and rare Chinese Kasumi-Like Metallic Freshwater Baroque pearl necklace! Lovely necklace, dusted with metallic golden overtones over shades of dusky rose, vivid peach, and shades of pink tinged with delightful champagne. The length of the necklace is 17.5 inches (44.5 cm). The large size of the beads varies from 12 mm to 15.5 mm. The necklace is fastened with a unique 14K solid gold clasp with natural pink pearl cabochon. Bead knotting is traditionally done with silk thread, placing a knot between each bead to prevent them from rubbing against each other. The weight of the necklace is 99 grams (3.5 oz).
The large, colorful, and wrinkled-skinned pearls are most often referred to as "Ripples." These pearls are dead ringers for the classic Japanese freshwater pearls from Lake Kasumi. Sadly pollution in the 1980's has all but ended production in Lake Kasumi. The good news is that Chinese pearl producers have taken up the slack and have been busy producing "Kasumi-Like" pearls.
The good quality Kasumi-like necklace looks “fine”—there are slight irregularities and color transitions. They are an exotic choice for anyone looking for a spectacular pearl necklace.
