The length of the necklace is 22 inches (56 cm). The size of the smooth, large barrel beads ranges from 22 mm to 37 mm.
The color of the beads varies from light beige to saturated brown. In bright sunlight, the Sumatran amber has a shade of blue.
The color is authentic and natural. No thermal or other mechanical treatments were used.
The necklace is fastened with a rare sterling silver clasp with a natural carved bone. Incredible detail and expert carving!
Beads knotting is traditionally done with silk thread, placing a knot between each bead to prevent them from rubbing against each other.
The weight of the necklace is 94 grams.
Amber is an organic gemstone derived from fossilized tree resin. Sumatran amber is unique, exceptionally beautiful, and rare. It is found in the regular 'amber-color' and reddish hues, olive green, and blue. The only genuine blue amber was found in the Dominican Republic, Indonesia, and a small amount in Mexico. Unfortunately, in the last two years, the excellent quality beads of Sumatran amber have been almost impossible to acquire.
From the geological viewpoint, the deposit of Indonesian amber is situated in the Sinamar Formation, which is an early Oligocene-age rock formation (approximately 30 million years old).
The Sumatran amber is entirely natural. Therefore, no treatment is given to the original rough material except cut and polish.
