Huge Canadian Labradorite Rondelle Beaded Necklace.
Labradorite is a feldspar mineral.
It has a labradorescence, which is the meaning behind its name. The crystals are often found in thin and tabular shapes with colors ranging from purple to grey-blue, green, yellow, and brown. The mineral has a pearly sheen, and some specimens have a Schiller effect. (The Schiller effect is a lustrous mix of colors from the interaction of light within a mineral. “Schiller,” which is German for shining or twinkle, describes the gemological effect of aventurescence caused by light reflecting off tiny mineral platelets inside the gemstone.)
Amazing huge necklace made with very large rare, size Natural Canadian Labradorite. These beads were a special custom cut for our shop.
The length of the necklace is 18.5 inches (47 cm). The rare huge size of the faceted rondelle beads is 26 - 28mm.
The body color of labradorite is dark gray, which is an excellent contrast to the colors of labradorescence, which are green and blue but also include yellow and orange.
The color is authentic and natural. No thermal or other mechanical treatments were used.
Large Labradorite beads connect small sterling silver beads 3 mm in size.
The necklace is fastened with a unique toggle clasp with natural labradorite inlay.
The weight of the necklace is 453 grams (16oz).
